On Saturday, 5 September 2009, a Grand Iftar was organised by the Malaysian student societies and communities, this included EHSAN-VMPGA-KUAM-Malaysian community in Bundoora and KgVicNorth.  The event was held at Malaysia Hall.

Around 100+ people gathered around for the auspicious event. The iftar started of with kurma and drinks before performing Maghrib prayers in congregation. The menu was nasi tomato with air kathira, tea, roti jala with kuah kari and some kuih-muih. After having dinner, tazkirah was delivered by Ustaz Nushi Mahfodz, ex-President of VMPGA with the topic Al-Quran Fantasia (AF). Later, Terawikh prayer was performed and the event ended at 8:45pm.

It is hoped that the event had strengthened the bond between Muslims and acts as a platform to exchange certain ideas and issues.
